As a result of evidentiary and other procedural actions carried out within the criminal proceedings examined in the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, it has been substantiated that the person who held the position of the head of the Hartagyugh community of Lori Province from 1996 to 2021 illegally alienated a 1.11035 ha agricultural land plot with a market value of 10,000,000 RA drams, located in the territory of the same community, to his son.
Specifically, it was revealed that the head of the above-mentioned community, in violation of the procedure for public auctions established by law, formally organized and conducted a sham auction-sale of the aforementioned land plot on May 6, 2019, in the absence of his son, with the assistance of 5 members of the auction commission, as a result of which his son was declared the winner. After that, the latter submitted the necessary documents to the RA Cadastre Committee, and his ownership right to the said land plot was registered.
The former head of the Hartagyugh community was charged with abuse of official powers and official forgery under Article 308, Part 2 and Article 314, Part 1 of the former Criminal Code of the RA, and his son under Article 325, Part 1 of the same code. Charges were also brought against the 5 members of the auction commission who assisted the community head.
The preliminary investigation regarding the above-mentioned 7 persons, including the former community head, has been completed. The materials of the proceedings, with the indictment, have been handed over to the supervising prosecutor with a motion to confirm it and send it to court.
