European Parliament Opens Permanent Office in Kyiv

The European Parliament has opened a permanent representation in Kyiv. EP President Roberta Metsola stated during a ceremony at the Verkhovna Rada that the aim of this step is to deepen cooperation with Kyiv. "We will stay here, we will work with you every day," said Metsola.

The head of the European Parliament emphasized that the pressure on Moscow will be maintained. It is planned that the 19th package of sanctions against Russia will be adopted soon, DW wrote, citing Metsola. The official noted that the EU intends to quickly abandon Russian gas and oil and to take measures against Moscow's "shadow fleet," which is used to circumvent the restrictions. In Kyiv, Metsola once again assured that Europe will not leave Kyiv alone in its struggle and that steps are currently being taken to coordinate work in this direction.
