EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan in Final Stages

The work of the EU missions that visited Armenia has had a positive impact on the process of EU visa liberalization. Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan said this at a meeting with EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Minister also presented to the EU official the details of the introduction of the biometric system, as well as the steps taken by the Armenian government in the areas of border management, reintegration of displaced persons, and migration policy.
Commissioner Kos emphasized the importance of the reforms being implemented in the RA internal affairs system, stressing the EU's continued support for their implementation. She noted the EU's support of more than 200 million euros. Among other areas, the support will also include one of the important pillars of Armenia-EU cooperation: the process of EU visa liberalization. The Commissioner highly appreciated the coordinating role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the framework of the visa liberalization dialogue, noting that the action plan is in the finalization stage.
During the meeting, the progress of reforms being implemented in a number of areas, the coordination of the financial and operational components of the "Resilience and Development Plan," as well as other issues of bilateral interest were discussed.
The parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue and expand cooperation, as well as joint work towards EU visa liberalization.
