Erdogan to Raise Gaza at UN, Discuss Trade with Trump

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on September 21 that he will raise the issue of Israel's "mass killings" in Gaza at the UN General Assembly and expressed hope that broader recognition of Palestine will accelerate efforts to create two states. Reuters reports this.

Speaking to journalists before departing for New York, Erdoğan stated that he will discuss issues of cooperation in the fields of trade and the defense industry with US President Donald Trump.

Many experts consider the activation of ties with Syria during this period as part of Erdoğan's anti-Israeli demarche. Erdoğan announced that during the same trip, he will also meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
