Armenia's ENA: Grid is Worn Out, Outages Possible

ENA has released a statement about its many problems, which are also being felt step by step by consumers. The statement, in particular, says: "We want to draw your attention to the fact that the electricity economy of 'Electric Networks of Armenia' CJSC is currently in a technically rather poor and physically worn-out condition, and in some cases, even mostly unsuitable for further operation.
It is obvious that this situation is a consequence of years of wrong management policy or the almost complete absence of initiatives aimed at re-equipping the network, the results of which are already being felt today through frequent emergency outages and the time-consuming and extensive nature of urgent actions aimed at their elimination.
In these conditions, if the resulting accidents and power supply disruptions are not caused by man-made errors (damage to equipment and cables, burning of poles and substations, etc.), then the operational-technical staff of 'ENA' CJSC, thanks to the 24-hour work regime, responds to them as quickly as possible and proceeds to restore the electricity supply in a short time. In all other cases, the urgent restoration work being carried out may objectively take longer, for which we ask for your understanding and forgiveness," notes ENA.
