The Russian city of Novorossiysk has been subjected to a massive drone attack, resulting in deaths and injuries. Significant material damage was also caused. According to the Kuban operational headquarters, three people were killed in the attack. Another eight, including one child, received injuries of varying degrees. Three of the injured are in serious condition, while the others are in a moderately severe condition.
The target of the attack was the central part of the city, around the "Novorossiysk" hotel. As a result, 7 residential buildings and about 20 cars were damaged. Notably, one of the targets was the Novorossiysk office of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). According to many experts, this was the main target. The consortium reported that the office building was damaged, and two of their employees were injured. In addition, it is noted that in the same building there are "seriously injured people who are not employees of the company."
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium is a joint project of Russia, Kazakhstan, and major international oil companies. The main oil pipeline transports Russian and Kazakh oil to a sea terminal near Novorossiysk, from where it is loaded onto tankers for shipment to world markets. After the attack, the city's mayor declared a state of emergency in Novorossiysk.
