Armenian Schools to Move Under Direct Ministry Control

At a session of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports of the National Assembly of Armenia, a package of draft laws was discussed, which envisages a revolutionary change in the logic of school management.

"With the proposed change, we plan for general education institutions to have one authorized body: the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport. Thus, all schools in our country—1,343 institutions—will operate under the authority of the ministry. The necessity for this change stems from the establishment of unified standards in the education sector," noted MESCS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan.
