Donald Trump Jr. Held Secret Meeting with Erdoğan

The chairman of Turkey's opposition Republican People's Party, Özgür Özel, has announced that Donald Trump Jr., the son of President Trump, secretly visited Turkey last week and met with Turkish President Recep Erdoğan at the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul. The Turkish service of DW writes about this, citing the politician.
"He [Erdoğan] held negotiations. It was stated that the meeting was with a 'businessman,' but they did not mention his name. Palestine is suffering, and they are cooperating with Trump's son through lobbying firms. They are abandoning Palestine and our Palestinian brothers and sisters for Trump's bias," the politician said. According to the Middle East Eye publication, the US president's son did indeed meet with Erdoğan. It is noted that Trump Jr. visited Turkey not alone, but with a group of businessmen.
It should be recalled that in public speeches, Erdoğan has consistently opposed Israel's offensive operations in Gaza. However, given the close US-Turkey relations, Erdoğan's opponents have always been skeptical of these speeches. Trump Jr.'s visit to Turkey and his meeting with Erdoğan are presented as another proof that official Ankara's position on the Palestinian issue is not unequivocal.
