Dilijan Wildfire: Spread Towards Homes, Resort Prevented
26 NOV 2025 10:13
As of 10:30 on November 26, the fire that broke out in the Dilijan "Kazachi" section of the Tavush region has been localized. In other areas—near the Navur settlement, in the forest adjacent to the Dilijan turns, and near the "Mountain Armenia" hotel in Dilijan—the work continues. This is stated in a message released by the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"The information circulating in the press that the fire has spread to the 'Lernayin Hayastan' (Mountain Armenia) resort does not correspond to reality. We urge you to follow only the official news feed. The fire has mainly spread in a grassy area. A large number of trees in the area have not burned; heat damage has been recorded.
The spread of the fire to houses and the resort has been prevented. In total, 669 rescue service employees, 215 eco-patrols, and residents are involved in the firefighting efforts. During the day, a Ministry of Defense helicopter made 22 flights to support firefighting operations and aerial reconnaissance of the area.
The work is continuing intensively.
Information is being spread in the press about the recruitment of volunteers for the firefighting efforts. The situation is fully under the control of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RA, and in case of need for the help of volunteer groups, a corresponding statement will be issued," the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes, urging strict observance of fire safety rules. In case of noticing a fire or smoke, please call 911 immediately.
