"Crossroads of Peace" Has Entered Implementation Phase: Pashinyan

"The 'Crossroads of Peace' project has entered the implementation phase. And, of course, I also understand that in this context, the TRIPP project is in the special spotlight." Nikol Pashinyan stated this during the "Crossroads of Peace: Developing Regional Communications" conference, emphasizing that TRIPP, by and large, will be part of the larger "Crossroads of Peace" project.

"We have already entered a phase where the North-South project is taking shape. You know that this year we will already open the Gyumri-Yerevan section of the North-South road, which is now practically ready, just furnishing work needs to be done. And the Agarak-Kajaran section is also being built at a very fast pace. Currently, very active discussions are underway regarding the construction of the Sisian-Kajaran section, and the Bargushat tunnel construction project is of particular importance, for which we are already entering the final phase," listed Nikol Pashinyan.

As a historical event, he recalled the fact that recently, for the first time since Armenia's independence, cargo has entered the Republic of Armenia from Russia and Kazakhstan via Azerbaijan's railway, for now via the Georgia-Armenia, Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia route. The Prime Minister reminded that in Soviet times, Armenia had a direct railway connection with Azerbaijan through the Tavush and Syunik provinces. Pashinyan recalled Yerevan's readiness to ensure the transit of goods from Azerbaijan to Turkey and in the opposite direction through the territory of the RA.

"The Republic of Armenia has expressed its readiness to ensure the transit of trucks from Turkey via Margara, through Kornidzor to Azerbaijan and in the opposite direction, starting today. Why are we making this offer now? Because today this infrastructure is ready. Of course, in all other sections that I will talk about, our political readiness is also there, but we simply have investments to make there," stated the RA Prime Minister.
