Criminal Case Opened in Beating of Cadastre Employee's Husband

Criminal proceedings have been initiated in the case of the beating of a Cadastre employee's husband. A number of media outlets are writing about this, citing information received from the Investigative Committee (IC).
"Criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the incident under Article 195, Part 2, Point 5 (physical violence by a group of persons) and Article 191, Part 2, Point 5 (kidnapping of a person by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code. A preliminary investigation is underway," the IC reported.
As a reminder, it was earlier written on social networks that the head of the Cadastre Committee, Suren Tovmasyan, and his chief of staff, Mher Khachatryan, also participated in the brawl.
"A report was received from the citizen about being beaten, which was immediately registered in the proper manner and sent to the preliminary investigation body. The police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are taking necessary measures to clarify all the circumstances of the case and the circle of persons involved," the MIA had clarified, without mentioning names.
Later, the committee denied the participation of its high-ranking representatives in the incident. "The information circulating in the mass media and on social networks that the head of the Cadastre Committee Suren Tovmasyan and the Secretary General Mher Khachatryan were involved in the kidnapping and beating of a citizen does not correspond to reality," said the statement issued by the Committee.
