Court Rules Samvel Karapetyan's Arrest Unlawful; Prosecutor's Office to Appeal

The RA Criminal Court of Appeal has recognized the arrest of Samvel Karapetyan as unlawful. Samvel Karapetyan's lawyer, Lianna Gasparyan, announced this in a Facebook post.

"The court has confirmed that the arrest of Samvel Karapetyan on June 18, 2025, was unlawful, as a result of which Samvel Karapetyan was illegally held in custody for about 9 or more hours.

Thus, the Criminal Court of Appeal has confirmed another in the series of illegalities taking place in this criminal proceeding, namely the fact of Samvel Karapetyan's illegal and unfounded arrest," the lawyer wrote.

In response to a query from 1lurer.am, the Prosecutor's Office stated that after receiving the judicial act, the department will file a cassation appeal against it.
