Court Invalidates 2014 Land Auction in Syunik Province

On April 17, 2025, the Prosecutor's Office of Syunik Province filed a lawsuit with the Anti-Corruption Court demanding to invalidate the auction of July 4, 2014, for land plots with areas of 0.2 and 0.5 hectares located in the Alvanq community of Syunik Province, and to apply the consequences of invalidity. This is reported by the RA Prosecutor General's Office.

By the judgment of the Anti-Corruption Court dated October 23, 2025, the lawsuit of the Syunik Province Prosecutor's Office was satisfied. The auction of July 4, 2014, was declared invalid, and as a consequence of invalidity, Decisions No. 17-A and 18-A of the head of the Alvanq community of Syunik Province dated July 4, 2014, the sales contracts concluded between the Alvanq community and a physical person on July 15, 2014, as well as the state registrations of property rights made in the names of two physical persons on September 11, 2020, were declared invalid.

After the judgment enters into legal force, the land plots with areas of 0.2 ha and 0.5 ha located in the Alvanq settlement will be returned to the Meghri community of Syunik Province.
