Catholicos Visits Archbishop Ajapahyan in Prison

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, accompanied by Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan, and Bishop Mushegh Babayan, visited the "Yerevan-Kentron" Penitentiary on September 9 and met with Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan.

The information was confirmed to ReOpen by Priest Yesayi Artenyan. According to him, His Holiness had previously expressed a desire to visit Archbishops Mikael and Bagrat, as well as national benefactor Samvel Karapetyan, but was denied.

"As has been noted on various occasions in the meetings of the Supreme Spiritual Council and the Bishops' Synod, the Mother See strongly condemns the illegal actions and ordered judicial processes being carried out against them," emphasized Priest Yesayi Artenyan.
