Tried to flee with 12 kilograms of cannabis

The Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs report that the Armavir department of the community police received an operational tip that a 53-year-old male resident of Arevik village was growing cannabis on a plot of land and also illegally possessing drugs.

"The information was verified on July 30. Before the community police officers reached the privatized plot of land, they noticed a young man on the way, running with cannabis plants in his hands. At 14:35, he was arrested and taken to the station. It turned out that the fleeing person was the friend of the 53-year-old man's son. The semi-dry cannabis plants weighed about 12 kilograms. At 15:00, the 53-year-old man was also arrested and taken to the station. He stated that the semi-dry cannabis was his, for personal use. According to preliminary information, it was he who had asked his son's friend to move the cannabis bushes and store them in another place. The man, his son's 24-year-old friend, and the prepared documents have been submitted to the Armavir Regional Investigative Department," the statement says.
