In Cameroon, the victory of 92-year-old Paul Biya in the presidential elections, whom some media call "Putin's black brother," was accompanied by a brutal suppression of protests.
As reported by ABC News, in the city of Douala, the police opened fire on residents who had taken to the streets to demand a recount of the election results. At least four people were killed as a result of the incident. More than a hundred protesters were arrested.
Earlier, official sources in Cameroon had spread information that no serious incidents were recorded during and after the voting.
It should be recalled that 92-year-old Paul Biya has been in power since 1982, and if an unforeseen situation does not arise, after another consecutive election, he will rule for another 7 years, in fact, almost until his 100th birthday.
