Cafe Owner and Son Beat 16-Year-Old Boy in Yerevan

On September 9, the same source presented a segment of an exclusive video showing how the incident occurred. Someone arrives in a "Mercedes G" vehicle, grossly violating traffic rules, approaches the scene, gets out of the car, and then, with a group of people, beats the child.

According to the source, the incident took place on September 7. Around 21:50, the Arabkir division of the Main Department of Community Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information that a group of people had argued and a fight had occurred near the "Aznavour Cafe," used by the public, located on Nairi Zaryan Street, opposite the Arabkir district administration building, next to the "X-Planet" cafe, and that there was an injured person. The operational group of the Arabkir police division, led by division head Ruben Nersisyan, arrived. It was confirmed on the spot that the received operational information was accurate.

While the police were at the scene, an alarm was received at the Arabkir police division from the "Wigmore" Women's and Children's Hospital, reporting that a male child had been admitted with a diagnosis of "polytrauma." The Arabkir police officers who went to the hospital found out that the person admitted was 16-year-old Vahan A., a resident of Yerevan.

On the spot, the police determined that around 21:00, near the "Aznavour" cafe, next to the "X-Planet" cafe, two people had approached the child and started hitting him with their hands and feet on various parts of his body, shouting obscenities. This lasted for about 20 minutes. In this way, disrespectful behavior towards society was also shown for a prolonged period.

According to the photojournalist's information, the Arabkir police had identified that the individuals who beat the child were residents of Yerevan: 59-year-old Vartges D. and 33-year-old Robert D.

Documents were prepared regarding the incident at the Arabkir police division, which were transferred to the Arabkir investigative division of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. According to the source, Vartges and Robert D. are father and son, and they own the "Aznavour" cafe.
