5-Car Pile-Up on Rubinyants Street Involving City Bus

Today, on October 17, another major car accident involving a "Zhongtong" brand bus registered on the balance sheet of the Yerevan Municipality occurred in Yerevan. This is reported by Shamshyan.com.
Around 11:00, the bus serving route number 97 collided with a "Mercedes Sprinter" vehicle parked in a permitted area on Rubinyants Street. As a result, the "Mercedes" went off the roadway, hit a tree and a "Mazda" parked in a permitted area. The latter then moved forward and hit a "Honda Accord" vehicle also parked in a permitted area. Debris from the car and tree branches from the impact damaged a "Toyota" vehicle parked in the yard of building 1 on Rubinyants Street. A fire-rescue crew from the Yerevan No. 5 fire-rescue squad of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Rescue Service, led by unit commander Arayik Arustamyan, promptly arrived.
The firefighters are on duty at the scene. Patrol officers from the 1st company of the 1st battalion of the Yerevan city regiment of the Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police, led by regiment commander Andranik Isakhanyan, battalion commander Gor Arakelyan, deputy battalion commander Davit Nikoghosyan, and company commander Sargis Kirakosyan, also arrived promptly. Patrol officers Spartak Poghosyan and Khachatur Mirzajanyan from the same company cordoned off the area. Representatives of "Yerevan Bus" CJSC of the Yerevan Municipality, led by the head of security, also arrived quickly.
Upon learning of the accident, the head of the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district, Artak Hovakimyan, instructed and employees of the district administration arrived. Documents are being prepared regarding the accident at the 1st battalion of the Patrol Service's Yerevan city regiment, where the identities of the owners of the bus and the parked cars are being clarified. There were several passengers on the bus who, fortunately, were not injured.
