British company Anglo Asian Mining Plc. (AAM), which is engaged in the extraction of gold, silver, and copper in Azerbaijan, has started the first ore extraction at the Kashen mine in occupied Artsakh, which is called the Demirli copper mine in Azerbaijani sources.
Anglo Asian Mining plc announces that production will increase by the end of 2025. It is forecast that about 4,000 tons of copper concentrate will be produced in 2025.
"Starting from 2026, an increase in production volume is expected to about 15,000 tons of copper per year. The operational life of the mine will be determined after further development of the geological model and the mineral resource model," the company's statement said.

Azerbaijan's share in the contract is 51%, and Anglo Asian Mining Plc.'s is 49%. Currently, AAM has the rights to develop eight contract areas in Azerbaijan.
