The birth of the Republic of Artsakh: a history that we have lived

On September 2, 1991, at the Renaissance Square in Stepanakert, a joint session of the deputies of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast and the Shahumyan region unanimously declared the independence of the Republic of Artsakh. The Armenian tricolor was waved in the sky of Stepanakert.
