Beijing Warns Tokyo Not to "Play with Fire" on Taiwan

Beijing has called on Japan to "deeply reflect on its historical crimes" and immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs. The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry demanded that Tokyo cease its provocative actions and emphasized that it should "refrain from playing with fire on the Taiwan issue."

This harsh reaction from Beijing followed the Japanese Prime Minister's statement. The Prime Minister had noted that an attack on Taiwan by China could create a situation that would threaten Japan's survival. According to him, such a scenario would allow Tokyo to exercise its right to collective self-defense, which China views as a direct threat and interference in its sovereignty.
