15 OCT 2025 12:29
On October 15, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Elina Valtonen. As reported by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on bilateral relations, the priorities of Finland's OSCE chairmanship, the regional situation, and the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan was also discussed at the meeting. Bayramov emphasized the importance of the August 8 meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan, the USA, and Armenia in Washington and the signed joint declaration. Speaking about the next steps for signing the peace agreement, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister stressed the "necessity of eliminating territorial claims against their country in the Constitution of Armenia." During the conversation, the significance of the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project for the restoration of transport and economic ties in the region was noted.
The parties positively assessed the cessation of the activities of OSCE institutions such as the Minsk Process, the Special Representative of the Chairperson-in-Office, and the High-Level Planning Group as of September 1.
Bayramov noted the importance of launching a cooperation program with Azerbaijan, considering practical cooperation in areas such as demining, environmental assessment, and cybersecurity to be useful.
