OSCE Minsk Group Dissolution Decision Expected Sept 1: Bayramov

26 AUG 2025 12:03
The application for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group and its related structures has been circulated among the OSCE countries. It is expected that a decision on this matter will be made on September 1. The author of the statement is the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. He also spoke about the points that Armenia did not agree to accept before the end of January 2025.
"Armenia, in particular, did not accept the points related to withdrawing claims from courts and not allowing the deployment of third forces on the border," said Bayramov, adding that Azerbaijan has taken serious steps to establish a stable peace in the region. "Our country has openly stated that 'the Karabakh issue is an internal problem of Azerbaijan.'
Despite some successes that were achieved during the peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the accelerated armament of Armenia has been the main obstacle to reaching the end of the normalization process," said the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister. He also repeated Baku's well-known precondition that Baku expects Yerevan to amend the Constitution of Armenia and completely eliminate "territorial claims against Azerbaijan" in order to sign a peace agreement.
