Suspects in SBU Colonel's Murder Killed in Ukraine

Ukraine's security forces have reported that the killer of Voronich and his accomplice were eliminated during their arrest because they resisted. The suspects were Azerbaijanis.

Vasyl Malyuk, a representative of Ukraine's security forces, stated that the arrest did not go as planned; the criminals were eliminated during an escape attempt, and that Russian special services were behind their actions.

The Azerbaijani side, for now at an unofficial level, has expressed its dissatisfaction with the incident. They have demanded a transparent investigation to ensure that the killed Azerbaijanis were indeed guilty and that their killing was carried out lawfully, under circumstances where there was no other option.

It is recalled that SBU Colonel Ivan Voronich, killed in Kyiv, played an important role in the 2024 operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast, as reported by The New York Times.
