Azerbaijan to Increase Defense Spending in 2026

In 2026, Azerbaijan's defense and security expenditures are planned to be 8 billion 714.8 million manats. This is stated in the data from the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan "On the preliminary indicators of the consolidated and state budgets for 2026."

According to materials published on the Ministry of Finance website, this is 3.8% more than the approved forecast for 2025.

Defense and national security expenditures will account for about 21% of all state budget expenditures of Azerbaijan in 2026.

In the 2026 draft budget, the government of Azerbaijan has allocated 8.815 billion manats (which is $5.12 billion at the current exchange rate) for defense and national security expenditures.
