Azerbaijan Shows Off New Serbian Nora-B 52NG Howitzers

Azerbaijan continues to actively modernize its armed forces, supplementing its armaments with modern military equipment. The latest evidence of this process was the public display of new artillery systems during a parade rehearsal in Baku. The focus of military experts and the public has been on the Serbian-made Nora-B 52NG self-propelled howitzers, which are being seen for the first time in the composition of the Azerbaijani armed forces.
The appearance of these modern artillery systems on the streets of Baku confirms the implementation of the military contract signed in February 2024 between Azerbaijan and the Serbian state company Yugoimport SDPR. According to that contract, Baku was to receive 48 units of Nora-B 52NG howitzers. The total value of the deal is about $339 million.
The Nora-B 52NG is considered a modern wheeled self-propelled artillery system, which is distinguished by a number of technical advantages. Among them are high mobility, which allows for a quick change of firing positions and evasion of enemy counter-strikes, as well as high accuracy and firepower. These systems are designed to destroy enemy manpower, armored vehicles, fortifications, and other important targets at significant distances.
Military experts are unanimous that the integration of these systems will allow the Azerbaijani army to significantly strengthen its artillery potential.
