Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran Hold Trilateral Meeting in Baku

13 OCT 2025 07:07
A trilateral meeting of representatives of the governments of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Iran has started in Baku, which aims to deepen cooperation in key areas of regional importance. The focus of the meeting is on issues related to the implementation of joint projects in the transport, energy, and customs sectors, which are of strategic importance for the three countries.
Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev delivered an opening speech at the meeting, reaffirming Baku's commitment to the principles of good neighborliness, mutual understanding, and equal partnership in relations with both Iran and Russia. He stressed that Azerbaijan is confident that the multifaceted ties with the two friendly countries will continue to develop and strengthen in both bilateral and trilateral formats, being supplemented with new content.
"I want to particularly emphasize the importance of the further development and strengthening of interstate relations based on the principles of non-interference in each other's internal affairs and mutual respect," Mustafayev added.
The meeting in this format is particularly interesting in the context that Baku has recently had problematic topics with both Russia and Iran.
