Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia Form Transport Working Groups
14 OCT 2025 07:08
Following the results of the trilateral meeting between Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia, a decision was made to create a special working group on road transport issues. This is stated in the communiqué following the meeting on October 13, which is dedicated to the cooperation of the three countries in the transport, energy, and customs sectors.
According to the agreement reached during the meeting, the newly created working group will include representatives of the customs, border, and transport agencies of Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia. It is expected that this format will contribute to the coordinated solution of existing issues in the field of road transport between the three countries and the deepening of cooperation.
In addition, the communiqué noted with satisfaction another important agreement. The regulation of the "trilateral working group on cooperation of customs bodies to support transit transportation between the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Russian Federation" was signed. This means that another working group will operate in parallel, which will deal exclusively with the simplification of customs procedures to promote transit cargo transportation between the three countries.
The creation of two specialized working groups operating in parallel with each other emphasizes the importance of regional transport routes for each of the participating countries.
