"Last night, we recorded a significant deterioration in air quality due to large fires in various parts of the Republic of Armenia," Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said during a working consultation at Yerevan Municipality.
"These types of fires and the toxins emitted from them, according to the mayor, are significantly more dangerous than construction dust, the dust against which an intensive fight is being waged. I assume that many of you have also seen someone in your own or a neighboring yard collecting and burning leaves. These small 'factories' of leaves and garbage are simply poisoning you, the environment, and children. This is not normal. We need to understand the degree of poisoning. When we constantly talk about construction dust, it is 3-5 times less dangerous," he noted.
