The RA Prosecutor General's Office reports that the property and funds of the NA deputy, former mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan, have been frozen.
The Prosecutor General's Office, with a lawsuit for the confiscation of property of illicit origin, demands the confiscation of property and funds worth more than 2 billion drams from Taron Margaryan and persons affiliated with him.
It should also be recalled that on September 8, 2025, the prosecutor submitted the materials of the criminal proceedings against Taron Margaryan to the court.
Public criminal prosecution against Taron Margaryan was initiated for the fact that, holding the position of First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan from July 6, 2009, to November 15, 2011, and the position of Mayor of Yerevan from November 15, 2011, to July 9, 2018, out of mercenary and other personal interests, he abused his official powers, and with the assistance of other persons, using his official authority and the influence derived from it, legalized property of a particularly large amount obtained by criminal means, and did not apply administrative liability measures against persons who had arbitrarily seized a state-owned land plot.
The criminal case is at the preliminary hearing stage.
