The Museum of Missing Persons of Artsakh operating in Stepanakert has been looted and destroyed by the occupational administration of Azerbaijan. That museum preserved the invaluable testimonies of our compatriots whose fate remains unknown to this day. The Ministry of Culture of Artsakh wrote about this on its page, recalling that today is the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances.
According to official data from Artsakh, 777 Armenians continue to be considered missing from the years of the first Artsakh war. After the 44-day war of 2020, the fate of 175 servicemen and 20 civilians remains unknown to this day. During the occupation of Artsakh in September 2023 and the subsequent forced displacement, 42 people continue to be considered missing.
