Armenia's 2026 Budget Projects 5.4% Economic Growth

In 2026, we expect 5.4% economic growth, almost reaching a GDP level of 12 trillion, which exceeds initial forecasts. This was announced by the RA Minister of Finance while presenting the draft 2026 budget at the National Assembly, emphasizing that even the International Monetary Fund has raised its growth forecast for Armenia, expecting 5.5% economic growth in 2026.
Since this budget is the last within the framework of five-year plans, I consider it important to highlight the reforms carried out during 2021-2026, as well as to present the details on budget growth targets and the tax-to-GDP ratio. Future development is built on our past successes and the decisions we have made.
And so, based on the results of the last five years, we have recorded an average economic growth of 7.6%. And I am glad that the 5.4% GDP growth forecast is no longer a sensation.
It is noteworthy that the economic growth has been inclusive, in line with the policy declared by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. It was accompanied, on the one hand, by an increase in employment, and on the other hand, by a growth in average wages that significantly exceeds the inflation rate, as well as by a decrease in the level of inequality and poverty.
