In the under-18 group, with excellent play, Vahe Sukiasyan, with consecutive victories in the final rounds, equaled the leader in points and was declared European champion on tie-break points.
In the under-14 group, Armenia's other chess hope, 13-year-old Tigran Hambardzumyan, played brilliantly, scoring 7.5 points out of a possible 9, level with his competitor, but took 2nd place on tie-break points and was awarded a silver medal.
In the under-16 competition, Benik Aghasarov shared 2nd-4th places, ending up in 4th place on tie-break points.
