Armenian Speaker Discusses Peace Process in Kyrgyzstan

The delegation headed by the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, who is on an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, met with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic (Jogorku Kenesh), Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu. This is reported by the National Assembly of the RA.
First, the heads of the parliaments of the two countries had a private conversation, which was followed by a meeting of the delegations in an expanded format.
Alen Simonyan thanked Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu for the warm reception, noting that he is happy to be in a friendly country. A wide range of issues related to the development of inter-parliamentary ties, as well as matters of bilateral interest, were at the center of the interlocutors' discussion.
A separate reference was made to the process of establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In this context, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu noted that Kyrgyzstan welcomes the declaration adopted in Washington and the initialed peace agreement, adding that they will have a great impact from the point of view of establishing lasting peace in the region.
Alen Simonyan also drew his colleague's attention to the problem of prisoners and illegally detained persons in Azerbaijan, also emphasizing the issue of missing servicemen.
Alen Simonyan also toured the building of the Kyrgyz parliament with his colleague and got acquainted with the various innovative solutions implemented there.
