Armenian President Meets High-Level Chinese Delegation

The President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation led by Su Hui, the Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan welcomed the guests and noted: "I am glad to receive you at the Residence of the President of the Republic. I hope that this visit will contribute to the further development of relations between our countries.

Armenian-Chinese relations can be considered on two levels. The first is the millennia-old ties of our peoples, which have formed an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect, and this tradition continues to this day. The second is the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the People's Republic of China, which began in 1992.

The high-level meetings held in China in recent days have brought bilateral political relations to the level of a strategic partnership. Relations with China are one of the important directions of our foreign policy, and cooperation within the framework of a strategic partnership will open new opportunities for our countries."

Su Hui thanked for the reception and noted: "First of all, let me convey the warm greetings of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to you. In a few days, Armenia will celebrate the 34th anniversary of its Independence, and on this occasion, I would also like to convey President Xi Jinping's congratulatory message. On behalf of my delegation, I would also like to congratulate you and your colleagues on this important holiday."
