Armenian Opposition MP Resigns to Join New Party
19 SEP 2025 12:21
Areknaz Manukyan, a member of the "Hayastan" faction of the National Assembly, has submitted an application for the early termination of her powers. "I am resigning my mandate as a Member of the National Assembly. My decision is due to the fact that I will be joining 'Mother Armenia,' led by Andranik Tevanyan, which has applied to become a party.
I fully share the ideas of 'Mother Armenia,' I have many friends in that structure, and it is natural that I should become a member of the 'Mother Armenia' party. Resigning the mandate in this case fully fits within the rules and logic of human and political ethics.
I express my gratitude to the 2nd President of the RA, the leader of the 'Hayastan' alliance, Robert Kocharyan, my Dashnak friends, the other MPs of the alliance, and all those who have been at the forefront of our struggle against the anti-national authorities of the day during these years for the path we have traveled together.
I am also grateful to those citizens who fought against these people with equal or even greater efforts on different platforms. I am convinced that what they have done will yield its results. Our struggle for a complete change of power in our country and
the formation of a national government will continue; it's just that everyone can implement it within their own perceptions and formats.
I wish all real opposition forces effective work and victory," reads Areknaz Manukyan's post.
