During a working visit to Japan as part of the delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan visited the Tumo center that opened this July in the city of Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture.
The minister got acquainted with the center's activities and the specifics of the educational process. This was reported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized the role of the first international Tumo center launched in Asia, stressing that it contributes to expanding the accessibility of the educational model and spreading the successful Armenian experience. The newly opened Tumo in Japan operates in the region's largest conference center (G Messe Gunma) in cooperation with the Gunma Prefecture.
Prospects for further cooperation were discussed with the center's management. In particular, it was noted that there are plans to launch new Tumo boxes and centers in the Japanese cities of Maebashi and Kusatsu, making the Tumo educational program accessible to a larger number of teenagers.
During 2025, another 9 centers of the Tumo network will be launched in Argentina, the USA, the Netherlands, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Portugal. Currently, there are 11 international Tumo centers operating in various countries around the world: France, Portugal, Germany, Albania, and others.
The opening of Tumo Gunma took place during the "Expo 2025, Osaka" world exhibition. The center currently accepts about 3000 students annually; after full launch, this number will reach 9400.
