Armenian Minister, Italian Envoy Discuss Social Cooperation

Today, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Arsen Torosyan, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Armenia, Alessandro Ferranti. The department reports that the ambassador congratulated the minister on assuming office and reaffirmed the importance of cooperation between Armenia and Italy in the field of labor and social protection.

"The Ambassador emphasized the fundamental role of labor, recalling that it is enshrined in the Constitution of Italy. Minister Arsen Torosyan noted that the RA government also gives priority to labor as an important prerequisite for overcoming poverty and for people's independent lives. The Minister stressed that in the last seven years, about 200,000 new jobs have been created in Armenia, which creates a great opportunity to increase the well-being of citizens. At the same time, the minister noted the importance of the state's continued care for persons with disabilities and representatives of other vulnerable groups to ensure their full social inclusion. The parties also discussed other issues related to the bilateral and multilateral agenda, noting the importance of the continuity of cooperation," the message says.
