Armenian Military Police Official Arrested for Bribery

The person holding the position of Deputy Head of the Yerevan Military Police Department of the Ministry of Defense, with the assistance of his close associate, demanded and received a bribe of 7500 US dollars, equivalent to 2,970,000 AMD, from the father of a conscript to organize the process of granting a deferment from compulsory military service or obtaining a false medical diagnosis exempting from military service. The Anti-Corruption Committee reports this.

The official of the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense has been charged with receiving a bribe in a large amount. Detention has been applied to the official as a preventive measure.
