In 2026, it is planned to allocate 102.6 billion drams to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Compared to 2025, we have a negative difference of about 2.4 billion drams. In total, 101.4 billion drams will be allocated for current expenditures, and 1.2 billion drams for capital expenditures.
The details were presented by Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan during the committee discussions of the Draft Budget-2026 in the National Assembly. In the total allocation of 102.6 billion drams, social and non-procurement expenses amount to 89.4 billion drams, of which salaries, remuneration for work, and equivalent funds alone are 79.3 billion drams, while allocations for procurement procedures are 13.3 billion drams, of which capital expenditures are 1.2 billion drams, making up 1.2 percent of the total.
The 2.3 billion dram increase in current expenditures is mainly due to ensuring the payment of bonuses calculated based on the results of attestation. The 2026 budget includes appropriate funds so that employees will no longer have any problems related to receiving rent compensation in 2026.
Naturally, since the Police Guard has been formed, we had also planned for additional financial resources for the acquisition of food services in the current year; accordingly, the 2026 budget has been recalculated, the draft has been recalculated, and the corresponding funds are also provided for at this moment.
One of the important new developments concerns the seismic sector, noted Arpine Sargsyan. "We are planning to modernize the observation network of the seismic protection service; the investment program has been approved by the relevant government commission, and accordingly, we plan to acquire six cabins for the geochemical station, as well as 13 critically important devices and equipment that will allow for more accurate calculations and also ensure precise forecasts in the field of seismic protection," Sargsyan noted.
