Armenian and Japanese PMs Meet in Tokyo to Deepen Ties

In Tokyo, at the Kantei, a meeting took place between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, and the Prime Minister of Japan, Shigeru Ishiba.
The Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia reports that Shigeru Ishiba welcomed Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Japan, emphasizing that it is a good opportunity for the consistent development of Armenia-Japan relations and the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
He noted that Japan highly values the strengthening of friendly ties with Armenia and the implementation of joint initiatives in various fields.
At the same time, Shigeru Ishiba welcomed the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing hope that long-term and stable peace will be ensured in the region.
Nikol Pashinyan expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality, emphasizing that Armenia is ready to give new impetus to Armenia-Japan cooperation.
The RA Prime Minister noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the expansion of cooperation with Japan, including in the economic sphere. He stressed that a bilateral business forum is planned for the near future, which will genuinely contribute to the expansion of trade and economic ties. Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that as a result, Japanese business investments in Armenia will register a significant increase.
The country's leader also highlighted the cooperation established in previous years between Armenia and Japan in the areas of disaster prevention, human resource development, infrastructure, promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises, and other sectors.
The Prime Minister highly praised Japan's involvement in Armenia over the years, including through development and technical assistance programs.
Nikol Pashinyan congratulated his counterpart on the occasion of hosting and successfully holding the "EXPO 2025" world exhibition. At the same time, the Prime Minister thanked Japan for its support for Armenia's participation in the exhibition. The parties emphasized this platform as a unique opportunity to promote Armenia-Japan interaction.
During the meeting, the main directions of Armenia-Japan cooperation were discussed: the expansion of economic ties and investment cooperation, and the deepening of ties in the fields of education, science and culture, and tourism.
An exchange of views took place on further steps to ensure regional peace and stability.
In honor of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, an official dinner was given on behalf of the Prime Minister of Japan Shigeru Ishiba.
