The "Crossroads of Peace" project is not just an infrastructure initiative, but a vision for interconnectedness, interdependence, and cooperation in the region and beyond. With this key message, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, spoke in Brussels at the "Crossroads of Peace" conference organized by the international political consulting firm "Rasmussen Global." The speech presented the tangible results of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the economic prospects of regional unblocking.
The joint declaration signed on August 8, 2025, by the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan, and the President of the United States of America was described as a foundational event that "laid the groundwork for peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus, marking a decisive step towards the unblocking of the region." Grigoryan noted that after this event, the two countries have taken targeted steps to strengthen trust, such as the visit of Azerbaijani civil society representatives to Armenia and the visit of the head of the RA National Security Service to Baku.
The speech placed special emphasis on the positive economic consequences of the peace process. The 10.5% growth in economic activity recorded in September was also viewed as a direct impact of the August 8 declaration. In addition, the launch of a $500 million artificial intelligence infrastructure project with the companies NVIDIA and Firebird was highlighted, positioning Armenia as a high-tech hub.
The Secretary of the Security Council of the RA also emphasized that "Trump's International Path for Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) is an important component of the "Crossroads of Peace" project, in accordance with the memorandum signed between the US and Armenia.
Besides relations with Azerbaijan, the normalization of relations with Turkey was also defined as a priority. It was noted that Armenia has completed all necessary preparatory work for the opening of the border. According to research by the "Amberd" institute, the opening of the borders could increase the trade volume between the two countries by 200%.
As an example of reconciliation and the formation of direct ties between the societies of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Armen Grigoryan recalled the visit of a group of Azerbaijani public and media figures to the RA in October. He informed that Armenian figures will soon make a reciprocal visit to Azerbaijan.
"It is expected that representatives of Armenia's civil society will also pay a reciprocal visit to Azerbaijan in the near future. Before the involvement of civil society representatives, the head of the National Security Service of Armenia visited Baku to participate in the International Security Forum. Such visits and exchanges will contribute to strengthening mutual trust and understanding between the two societies, while simultaneously reinforcing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan," noted Armen Grigoryan.
