Armenian Council Backs Key Constitutional Reforms

Under the chairmanship of Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan, a regular session of the Constitutional Reform Council took place. The Council discussed the following issues on the agenda:

Review of the regulations defining the procedure for the formation of the National Assembly,
Establishment of mechanisms for the self-dissolution of the National Assembly,
Provision of constitutional regulations for defining the number of standing committees of the National Assembly by constitutional law and for forming a permanent ethics committee,
Establishment of mechanisms for the standing committees of the National Assembly to adopt a conclusion of no confidence in the Deputy Prime Minister, a minister, or diplomatic representatives.

As a result of active discussions, the mentioned issues were voted on and approved by the Constitutional Reform Council.
