Armenian Citizen Arrested in Georgia with 1kg of Drugs

Officers of the Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Customs Department of the Revenue Service have arrested a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, a man born in 1984, at the "Sadakhlo" checkpoint. He is accused of the illegal import and possession of drugs in particularly large quantities.
Law enforcement officers conducted a search of the detainee's car, resulting in the discovery and seizure of about 1 kilogram of a drug called "Clephedrone".
An investigation into the fact is being conducted under Articles 260 and 262 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provide for punishment for illicit drug trafficking.
The accused faces up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
