Church Denies Rumors of Catholicos Resignation Demand

Information in the press about the resignation of the Supreme Patriarch and the demand for the defrocking of Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan is untrue and false, Father Yesayi told @ArmeniaSputnik.

"And to study the issue related to the videos of indecent content attributed to Archbishop Arshak and to present a conclusion, the Supreme Patriarch, taking into account the proposals submitted, has created a commission," he said.

As a reminder, some media outlets on November 10, since the first half of the day, were disseminating information that 15 archbishops are demanding the resignation of Karekin II, and in addition to the demand for the Catholicos's dismissal, are also demanding that Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan be stripped of his ecclesiastical rank and defrocked.
