Armenian Assembly Calls on Trump to Free Armenian Hostages in Baku

"During President Trump's meeting with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan and the signing of the framework peace agreement between the two countries at the White House on August 8, President Trump promised to discuss the issue of hostage release with the President of Azerbaijan. In a conversation with the Prime Minister of Armenia, Trump noted the fact that Baku is holding Armenian hostages: 'So you said there are 23 Christians you would like to see released, right? It's 23, isn't it? Because I'm going to ask him to do that'," the statement recalls. "We call on the President to ensure the immediate release of the Armenian Christian hostages held in Baku, just as he showed he can successfully do so by freeing the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza," stated the co-chairs of the Armenian Assembly, Oscar Tatosian and Talin Yacoubian.
