Armenian Airlines Begin Flying Over Azerbaijan

For a week now, Armenian airlines have no longer been avoiding entering Azerbaijani airspace, as was the case in the past. "Hetq" has addressed the topic, presenting information available in open sources.

It reminds that in the past, due to various situations (for example, bad weather conditions in the Armenian-Georgian border area), aircraft registered in the RA have sometimes passed through the airspace of Azerbaijan, however, as a rule, they have stayed away from entering the air of the unfriendly neighbor, preferring to bypass it through the airspace of Georgia and Russia.

However, after Pashinyan's flight on August 30, when the RA government plane passed through the airspace of Azerbaijan, the statistical picture has changed significantly.

The statistics of Armenian airlines performing commercial transportation show the following: On August 30, "Shirak Avia" flew from Yerevan to Krasnoyarsk and returned via Azerbaijan. On August 31, "Shirak Avia" flew from Yerevan to Novosibirsk and returned via Azerbaijan.

"Flyone Armenia" flew from Yerevan to Yekaterinburg and returned via Azerbaijan on September 2 and 5.

It should be emphasized that during these flights, the Armenian aircraft covered a much longer distance over Azerbaijan. Unlike previous cases, during these recent flights, they entered and exited the Azerbaijani sky through air transit points (on the air borders, just like on land, there are transit points with clear coordinates).

Azerbaijani aircraft pass through our sky in the same way when flying from Baku to Nakhichevan or Tel Aviv and back. Moreover, AZAL's transit flights per week or month are many times more than the total number of transit flights of Armenian carriers, wrote "Hetq".
