Armenia and UAE to Sign Agreement on Defense Cooperation

Within the framework of his working visit to the United Arab Emirates, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met on November 17 with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the UAE, Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the UAE, Karen Grigoryan. A number of issues related to the possibilities of defense cooperation between Armenia and the UAE were discussed.

The parties expressed their readiness to develop bilateral cooperation in the defense sector between the two countries and to sign an agreement on cooperation between Armenia and the UAE in the field of defense for this purpose, which will define the main directions of cooperation. Issues related to regional and international security were also discussed.
