Armenia to Remove Mount Ararat Image from Border Stamps: Torosyan

Some opposition circles have launched a new information attack on a decision adopted by the government last Thursday, which establishes the design of the stamp placed in passports when crossing the state border of the Republic of Armenia.

First, I want to say that in many countries around the world, stamps have long since ceased to be placed in passports at border crossings. Even with our neighbor Georgia, we can cross the border with an identification card, without any stamp, as border crossings are only recorded in the electronic system.

The new stamps will not contain any other information or images besides the information about the border crossing, including Mount Ararat, as is the case with the border crossing stamps of most countries in the world.

The size of the stamp has also been reduced so that passports last longer for frequent travelers. And the justifications for the decision are very simple: the stamps have been brought into line with modern requirements for border crossings, as well as with the ideology of Real Armenia.

I am attaching the new designs of the stamps established by the decision, as well as the stamps of different countries in my passport, as proof of the above. I am sure that many of you also have stamps from other countries' border crossings in your passports.
