Armenia to Receive EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan

We have quite active work in the direction of visa liberalization with the EU. This week, the Republic of Armenia will officially receive the action plan from the European side, and the ball will be in the Republic of Armenia's court. This was stated in Parliament by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan.

"Perhaps the first direction in this area is the introduction of a biometric system, and I must note that we are actively continuing this work. We have a signed contract, we already have a determination with a private partner regarding the regional offices, and we have also finalized the external designs of the regional offices. The external design of the biometric identification card has also been approved, and in the near future, we will also have the approval of the external design of the passport as such. Naturally, the building conditions for the service and the private partner must also be reviewed here. The model version is already planned, and we will ensure this work is completed by the first half of 2026, and starting from the second half, we will begin the production of new biometric passports and identification cards," promised the Minister of Internal Affairs.
